Need a movie be good? Is it not enough to see Ayo Edebiri’s beautiful face, huge?
… okay it’s actually not enough and I would describe this movie, if I was very mean and in a bad mood, as sparkly A24 slop. She truly wasn’t given much to work with; what a nothing character.
The film was, generally, very visually stylish and had some good performances but was an uninspired remix of concepts from The Menu, Midsommar, Ready or Not, etc. I hope the director goes on to make some more films, as it was a debut, and it was competently made, but not something I would watch again.
